Microsoft Teams Integration

Microsoft Teams Integration

About the integration

Meeting Ally now connects directly with Microsoft Teams, making it faster and easier to process your recorded meetings.
Instead of downloading a recording from Teams and uploading it manually, you can browse your available Teams recordings from inside Meeting Ally and import them quickly and with less manual work.

Benefits

  • No more time lost spent looking for Teams meetings and downloading them.
  • Import recordings directly into Meeting Ally cutting out manual steps.
  • Continue using the same upload workflow you're already familiar with
  • Your recordings stay in Microsoft until you choose to import them

Before you begin

To use the Teams integration and import recordings into Meeting Ally:
  • A Microsoft 365 work account
  • Microsoft Calendar Sync enabled in Meeting Ally
  • To be the organiser of the Teams meeting
  • A recording available for that meeting

Connect Microsoft Teams

Connecting your account only takes a minute.
    Open SettingsIntegrations
    Select Microsoft Teams
    Click Connect
Sign in using your Microsoft 365 account
Review and accept the Microsoft permissions
    Return to Meeting Ally
Once connected, your Teams integration will show as Connected.

If Calendar Sync isn't already enabled it will be incorporated as part of the above process.

Importing a Teams recording

Uploading a Teams recording works just like any other Meeting Ally upload.
    Start a new upload
    Choose Import from Microsoft Teams
Select one of your available recordings
    Continue through the upload process
Meeting Ally will process the recording exactly the same way as a manually uploaded file.

If your organisation requires approval

Some organisations restrict who can connect third-party Microsoft applications.
If this applies to your organisation, you may be asked to request approval from your Microsoft administrator before you can connect Meeting Ally.
Once approval has been granted, simply return to Settings → Integrations and connect your account again.

If you're a Microsoft administrator, you may be able to approve the application on behalf of your organisation, making it easier for other users to connect their own accounts.

For IT administrators

Some organisations require Microsoft administrators to approve third-party applications before users can connect them.
If a user reports that administrator approval is required:
Approve the Meeting Ally application within Microsoft Entra.
Ask the user to reconnect from Settings → Integrations.
Even after organisation-wide approval, each user must still connect their own Microsoft account.
If the application isn't visible, confirm the user is signing in with a Microsoft 365 work account rather than a personal Microsoft account.

Things to know

Before using the Teams integration, it's worth knowing a few limitations:
  • Only recordings are supported not transcripts
  • Only meetings you organised can be imported
  • "Meet now" or ad hoc meetings aren't supported
  • Newly finished recordings may take time for Microsoft to process before they are available.
  • At any time, you can always upload recordings manually instead

Troubleshooting

I can't connect my Microsoft account

Try the following:
  • Check whether your organisation requires Microsoft administrator approval. You should not see the integration as connected until this happens.
  • Confirm Calendar Sync is enabled
  • If this persists disconnect the Teams and Calendar sync and re-enable them.

My meeting isn't showing up

Check that:
  • The meeting has synced from Microsoft Calendar
  • You organised the meeting
  • A recording exists
  • Microsoft has finished processing the recording

I can see the meeting, but I can't select it

This usually means Microsoft hasn't finished preparing the recording yet, or the meeting wasn't recorded. Wait a little longer and try again.

Why am I being asked to reconnect?

Your Microsoft sign-in has likely expired or your organisation has updated its security settings.
  • Select Reconnect and sign in again using the same Microsoft account.
  • If the problem continues, disconnect the integration completely before connecting again.
